Freedom Fair Express Bus Service
Due to the failure of the transit levy this year Pierce Transit has needed to eliminate the special event service we have enjoyed for so many years. The Tacoma Events Commission appreciates that Freedom Fair attendees like to avoid the fuss and take the bus so we are replacing their service with our own. We appreciate your patience and support with this additional service we are providing.
WHY FUSS? TAKE THE BUS!
Don't want to miss the spectacular Tacoma Freedom Fair this Fourth of July, but don't want to drive? Why worry about where to park and how far you'll have to walk to attend Tacoma's annual Independence Day celebration on the Ruston Way waterfront? There will be special yellow Freedom Fair Express buses running from the park and ride lots to the event areas. Just park free at one of the designated Park-n-Ride lots and ride the bus to the main entrance of the Freedom Fair at North 30th and McCarver Street in Old Town Tacoma. Starting at 10:00 a.m., buses will pick up passengers at these 2 locations:
Tacoma Dome Station
Catch the bus near the
parking garage on Puyallup Avenue just east of East ‘G’ Street. The boarding location will be the entire stretch of curb eastbound on Puyallup Avenue between East ‘G’ Street and East McKinley Street.

Catch the bus at TCC near Mildred and S. 12th Street.

Service runs every fifteen minutes until 8:00 p.m. Immediately after the fireworks, express buses will depart from N. 30th & McCarver and take passengers back to Tacoma Dome Station and TCC .
FARES
Yellow Freedom Fair Express Bus fares will be $5 round trip for adults (18 and up) and $2 for kids. We encourage everyone to pay for their bus passes online prior to arrival at the park & ride lots. The Family Pass costs $10, and is good for two adults and two kids. Passes are available online at the link below and on the 4th at TCC and at the Tacoma Dome Station. Purchasing your bus pass online in advance will be easier and quicker for you, the passes are "cash only" the day of the event.
Note: fireworks, explosives or flammable materials
are prohibited on
buses and at The Freedom Fair.
