The CHYMES OF FREEDOM, from the Pacific Northwest, carry on the folk/country rock tradition pioneered in the 1960’s by Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and Ian Tyson, and later developed by Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, Neil Young and The Eagles. THE CHYMES present this roots music with the distinct sound of jangling guitar, lush, soaring vocal harmonies, sweet melodies, and thought provoking songs of substance.

Songwriter, singer Bob Dale, who plays 12-string Rickenbacker guitar and harmonica, recently founded THE CHYMES. This veteran performer did a ten-year stint from 1980-1990 as the singer/guitarist in a popular rock and roll band called THE CRACKERS.

Vocalist Cindy Dale has her own unique lyrical style. As one of the three singers in The Marvelles, Cindy gained wide experience playing festivals, fairs and nightclubs.

THE CHYMES rhythm section is made up of drummer/vocalist Danny Millie, who has played with Steven Stefanowicz, The Olympics and The Dead Brothers. On bass and fingerpicking style guitar is Seattle native Gary McKibbon.

Seeing and hearing THE CHYMES is an enjoyable and memorable experience for those who like their American music firmly rooted in the folk/country rock heritage.
