LOOSE GRAVEL AND THE QUARRY

Band leader Steve "Loose Gravel" Luhtala on lead vocals/guitar/harmonica is known as "The King of the Tideflats." He was born and raised in Tacoma and got his nickname "Gravel" playing softball. He is the main songwriter and provides the heart and soul to the music of Loose Gravel.

Johnny Burgess: Keyboards/vocals, a.k.a. "The Cinderblock," is originally from Paradise, California, and was nominated for best keyboards in 1995 by the Washington Blues Society.

Bill (Sippy) Green: Bass/backing vocals. Bill has pretty much covered all the bases in Western Washington when it comes to playing bass. Playing a variety of styles of music in his career, his influences can be heard when he plays the blues.

Pete Moceri: Guitar/vocals. "Pistol" Pete was born and raised in the San Francisco scene and has cultivated a Northwest spirit of blues and rock.

Gary Marcello: Drums. A Gig Harbor resident, Gary "The Bonemaster" made his mark on the Tacoma blues scene and has been a loyal member of Gravel's 'Quarry' since 1992.

Tom Mazzuca: Sax. Tommy "the zuke" is the secret sauce to the Quarry's unique sound. He is a homegrown Tacoman, with over 30 years experience. He was voted "Best in Blues" for 1993 and 1995 by the Washington Blues Society.
