The Origin Records roster of artists is one of the genuine musical treasures of the Pacific Northwest. The Origin Über Band is an all-star grouping of the label’s artists dedicated to exploring new musical territory, drawing on 20 years of playing together to create a coherent variety of moods and styles. You will hear in spades the spontaneous creativity that the dean of jazz critics Whitney Balliett calls "the sound of surprise.” The group features Richard Cole on saxophones, Rick Mandyck on guitar, Dave Peterson on guitar, Chuck Deardorf on bass and John Bishop on drums.
