Rich Wetzel's Groovin' Higher Orchestra, led by the recognizable and very exciting, high energy, high note trumpet stylings of a really amazing local player, Rich Wetzel, with some very notable credits to his name. Rich has played with some of the biggest names in the business like: The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, The Platters, The Spinners and The Temptations to name a few.

Wetzel says, " This group is my dream band, the one I have dreamed of having all my life. It is my favorite music to play, to watch be performed, and to listen to. This is the band I feel most passionate about. It is so exciting. I love it!

How could you not? This is not your grandfather's big band, but some high intensity 50's - today stuff from people like Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie, Buddy Rich and Woody Herman. The band is an all star 21-piece outfit made up of some of the biggest names of the local jazz scene, including Cliff Colon, Doug Ostgard, Scott Walker, Aaron Hennings and Greg Lyons to name a few. Most of these guys are leaders themselves of other area groups, and collectively put on a very exciting show, not to be missed! Whatever you do, make a point to go see these guys
