PERFORMING AT THE TACOMA FREEDOM FAIR JULY 4, 2000 FROM NOON TO 2:00 P.M. ON THE COMMENCEMENT PARK STAGE In the summer of 1992, four friends, four trombones, and a stack of borrowed music met in a garage in Tacoma, Washington. Although they planned to meet only once to provide background music for a benefit auction, they became 'an eclectic trombone quartet' - not your typical heavy metal garage band. "No Bones About It", became the result of that first rehearsal eight years ago. The band will be bringing five centuries of music with it into the Tacoma Freedom Fair on the Fourth of July. This group has a repertoire of over 300 works that include jazz, popular Americana, ragtime, patriotic, religious, holiday and art music from the 1400's to the present. The four trombonists, Kerry Allman, Dan Haeck, Jon Turnidge, and Kirk Jones, bring a wealth of experience to the group. Individually and collectively, the members of No Bones About It have performed in shows symphonies, operas, bands, jazz and rock groups, and even chamber ensembles. In addition, each musician contributes musical arrangements to the group's expanding library. Currently, the group has just released Bonehenge, its first CD of Classical and jazz sections. No Bones About It entertains and educates its audience in a Myriad of locations throughout Western Washington. From festivals, malls, concerts, weddings, schools and receptions. This group will please listeners of all ages with its lively brand of music. |
