DUKE'S CHOWDER HOUSE BLUES STAGE
When Danny Michal first jammed with Preston Miller over a decade ago they hit it off like gang busters, hence the birth of the Michal-Miller band; a band known for its fat, authentic blues sound and appearance that's sent them to Memphis in 2007 and 2009 to compete in the International Blues Challange. Joe Henning, the newest member, has played his bass with funk bands in Europe and England. His roots are in bluegrass and related styles. Together with drummer John Colvin, they are the driving force behind MMB. Colvin has played in many bands including a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover band with successful stints in Sweden. Danny, on keys and harp, was born with perfect pitch, giving him an edge at playing over 10 instruments and more bands than he can remember. He was one of the founding members of the locally popular band The Boinkers, playing both bass and lead guitar. Preston is one of those lucky guys blessed with a blues voice and an intertwining guitar style shifting between cool rhythm patterns while injecting creative lead licks in just the right places. The band has obvious chemistry and sure are having a blast playing.
