						 PERFORMS
AT THE TACOMA FREEDOM FAIR JULY
4, 2003 FROM 3:00 PM TO 5:00 PM ON THE COMMENCEMENT PARK STAGE

The members of the LaFleur Band originally came together in the 1990’s Cajun-rock band, Mamou. The brainchild of Lafleur, Mamou stands out as one of the most creative and unpredictable bands to emerge from the Cajun tradition. For a decade and a half, Lafleur led the hard-rock-inspired band to great success within Louisiana and throughout North America and Europe. In the early 1990’s, LaFleur shifted Mamou’s personnel briefly, and moved to traditional, acoustic lineup featuring Mark de Basile on accordion. Mamou’s raw and rebellious sound played acoustically established a unique and catchy style, but the band members went separate ways pursuing their own projects, and Mamou soon moved back to a more electric sound. After a number of years apart, this acoustic Mamou band re-formed under a new name, and the LaFleur et Basile project was born. The band features Steve LaFleur on vocals, guitar and bass, Mark de Basile on accordion, Jonno Frishberg on fiddle and Cutts Peaslee on drums and percussion.   For more information contact   Cutts Peaslee (206) 498-0997
