If you like your blues "Raw and Funky," then this band is for you.
Born in Tallbotton, Georgia in 1953, son of a career military man and musician, Al took up the guitar at the age of twelve. A natural talent, Al played by ear and taught himself, with the help of Mike Stanton (guitarist for the Judy Lynn Band in the 60’s and 70’s). In 1968, while in Germany, many friends and musicians gave Al musical tips and advice and invited him to rehearsals to observe. With these and other influences Al developed a style of his own. Returning from Germany in 1969 with an electric guitar in hand and loads of motivation, Al started his first band. He went on to perform in many bands throughout the years, including ’Chain Reaction’, ‘Dazzle’, ‘Billy Street‘, ‘The New Blues Brothers’, and ‘Funkin’ Groovin’. Funkin’ Groovin’ released two CD’s and played around the Northwest for five years.
Al also did Gospel from 1987 to 1995. “That really rounded out my musical experience. It taught me many different ways of applying guitar to non-guitar music.”
The most recent incarnation of Al’s music is the band “Al Earick Band” (also known as Al Earick and Road Dawg).
