Starting the mix
there’s the vocal stylings of Tony Harper, a much
sought-after talent. Northwest
veteran, Joe Blemis, lead guitarist and primary songwriter
for Bump Kitchen is nationally recognized. Named “Best
Blues Guitarist” in 1996 by the Washington Blues Society,
Blemis has wet appetites for everyone from Deep Purple to
Robert Cray. Russ
Letson, guitar player, brings to a heapin’ helpin’ of
jazz-rock chops to the table.
Native New Yorker, Everett James, first picked up a
pair of sticks at the age of 8 and has been whippin’ it up
ever since. Jack
Burton of the Tacoma Weekly says, “One of the
Northwest’s best, his percussive fills and grooves are
guaranteed to have you on your feet and dancing your butt
off.” Holding
up the low end of those boiling broth of a band is bass man,
Scott Simmons. A native of Oregon, Simmons sizzles and simmers the heavy
sounds that create Bump Kitchen’s unique musical blend. Bump Kitchen combines blues and old school funk influences
with heavy quitar sound.
