For Caribbean style reggae, Soca, Ska you can't miss Jumbalassy, a nine-piece ensemble based out of Seattle. The band has taken time out of its intensive west coast touring schedule to perform at the Tacoma Freedom Fair. Jumbalassy features lead vocalist, Alex Duncan (from the island nation of St. Kitts), a three-piece "Snake pit Horns" section, and renowned rhythm section. In 1992 the band was honored at the Northwest Area Music Awards (NAMA) with two awards: Best World/ Ethnic Band, and Best World/ Ethnic Album. Jumbalassy has also been featured on the "Best and Brightest" compilation tape from the 1992 New Music Seminar in New York. They have performed with notable artists such as Ziggy Marley, The Mighty Diamonds and Los Lobos.

The band was also chosen to be musical entertainers at the Goodwill Games in Seattle, performing twice at the Athletes' Village. Jumbalassy performs at numerous benefits in the Seattle area, and has donated the proceeds of its song Military Man, (which appeared on a Seattle compilation CD) to help the homeless.

Jumbalassy continues to provide a positive message and an exciting mix of Caribbean music for the people of the Northwest and the world.
