PERFORMS AT THE TACOMA FREEDOM FAIR JULY 4, 2000 FROM 6:00 TO 8:15 P.M. ON THE MARINE PARK STAGE The Sister Guitar Band may have one of the most refreshing sounds to come from the Northwest Seattle music scene! This dynamic woman-fronted band cranks out an infectious rhythm with their unique blend of reggae, rock, latin, Caribbean, and blues fusion styles. Their superb songwriting is highlighted by their excellent musicianship, positive enlightening lyrics, outstanding vocals and tasteful guitar parts. The nucleus of the band is Teri Anne Wilson, a.k.a. "Sister Guitar". She leads the band with her articulate, gutsy guitar playing and diverse song writing. Susan Anthony provides a dynamic and powerful voice that delivers the masterfully written lyrics with due emotion. Terri Wilson has recorded and performed with a variety of talented musicians including; Vicki Randle (currently in the Tonight Show Band), Bonnie Hayes (whose songs have been covered by Bonnie Raitt and Bette Midler), Teresa Trull, Woody Simmons and numerous others. Susan Anthony is blessed with searing vocals often compared to those of Tina Turner, Melissa Etheridge, or Janis Joplin. Currently in demand as a session vocalist in the Seattle area, she has become an indispensable asset to The Sister Guitar Band sound. Born into a family of performers, Susan's development as a first rate singer was unavoidable. Susan's father (Pete"La Roca"Sims) is a world renown jazz musician who has performed with John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins. So take the time out to witness a spectacular performance that you will never forget. |
