PERFORMING AT THE TACOMA FREEDOM FAIR JULY 4, 2000 FROM 11:00 TO NOON ON THE COMMENCEMENT PARK STAGE Get a sneak preview of Tacoma Musical Playhouses newest production at the Freedom Fair. You can enjoy one of America's best-loved musicals "Annie" at the Playhouse this summer from July 7th through to August 6, 2000. The show, which places Annie, and Daddy Warbucks in New York in the midst of a depression, opened on Broadway in 1977. It went on to win seven Tony awards and became the third longest running musical of the 1970's with 2,377 performances. Nearly 100 wanna-be orphans auditioned for the coveted child role of Annie. Through many callbacks of vigorous dance, singing and acting auditions, it was obvious that the perfect Annie would be Alyxandra Lyn who is a veteran of performing at the tender age of ten. Another adorable 13 girls will form her co-orphans in the production. Mark Rake-Marona, Holly Harmon, and Kim Saunders will play key adult roles, while a dynamic ensemble of supporting roles and strong dancers round out the Annie cast. The preview at the Freedom Fair is free, but tickets for the full production at the Tacoma Musical Playhouse will be available at $15 for adults, $13 for students and seniors, military and children (under 12) will be admitted for $8. Call the box office at 565-6TMP. |
